- Did you try the original drivers at any time? Which version of the
- software came with your system? Mine is very stable, as I'm using a
- similar monitor (Sony 1302) at this time. Soon I'll have a Mitsubishi
- Diamondscan 2038 to play around with. Perhaps it's the horizontal
- scanning frequencies that you're having troubles with?

- AFAIK, the 1942 is functionally similar to my old A1960, and should scan
- to 38kHz. Have you tried setting the monitor tooltype to 38kHz? You're
- correct about the flicker, at 800X600 in 31kHz mode, you get a refresh of
- approximately 50Hz :-(

- How odd, I can pull 16.7 million colors out of the PicassoII (2Mb) with
- my ancient A2500/030! On the WB I can only get 256 colors of course, but
- the supplied TV Paint jr allows for 8,15,16,and 24 bit pallettes.

- I see only a momentary pause (<1/2 sec) when switching modes, but then
- again, it could also be the version of the s/w too.

- Sounds like you need a utility on aminet for your A1942. I can't remember
- the exact name, but if you do an Archie search on AGA, that should pull
- up the utility. I use it, just for insurance sake (AGAFIXES?).

- That got pulled a long time ago, as the authors went commercial (Frank
- Mariak & Co.). The demo was kinda shoddy, albeit better than the current
- drivers from VT. I've heard that the commercial version is very bullet
- proof, but haven't seen anything directly myself.

- Well, try the original drivers that came with your board, and see what
- that does for you first. I might have the original Cybergraphix demo
- around somewhere, I'll look for them, and uuencode them to ya if I find
- them.
